Power Bomb Expansions, also known as Power Bomb Tanks, increase the number of Power Bombs Samus may hold. They are one of various minor upgrades, or suit expansions, Samus receives. The amount varies from game to game. They were first introduced in Super Metroid, along with the Power Bombs.

In Super Metroid, the increase per Expansion was five Power Bombs. In Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission, however, the amount lowered to two per expansion. In Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and on hard mode of Metroid: Zero Mission, the increase was further dropped to a single Power Bomb per expansion.
