==Etymology==
*"Vol" is a common abbreviation of the {{wp|Volans|Piscis Volans}} constellation, symbolizing a giant fish which is characteristics of frigates. "Paragom" can be a different spelling of {{wp|Paragon}}, signifying "flawlessness or excellence". {{wp|HMS Paragon|Paragon}} has been used as a name for ships of the British Royal Navy. {{wp|Paragomphus}} is the name of the dragonfly genus, though there is not a likely connection.
