Map Stations are found in various areas of the Metroid series. They allow Samus Aran to download maps. Samus can then use these maps whenever she pleases to view and ready for her destination. In Super Metroid, these maps are often incomplete, missing large sections and tunnels. These maps are usually optional; however, in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, they are often required to locate Landing Sites.
