They are one of various minor [[Upgrade]]s, or [[Suit Expansion]]s, [[Samus Aran|Samus]] receives. The amount varies from game to game. They were first featured in ''[[Super Metroid]]'', along with the Power Bombs.

In ''Super Metroid'', the increase per Expansion was five Power Bombs. In ''[[Metroid Fusion]]'' and ''[[Metroid: Zero Mission]]'', however, the amount lowered to two per expansion. In ''[[Metroid Prime (game)|Metroid Prime]]'', ''[[Metroid Prime 2: Echoes]]'', and on hard mode of ''Metroid: Zero Mission'', the increase was further dropped to a single Power Bomb per expansion.
