The Speed Booster is an ability allowing Samus to run with an increased speed. Once Speed Boosting, Samus can destroy any regular enemy by running into them. There is also a secret technique introduced in Super Metroid, shown by the Dachora, called the Shinespark. It has been in every 2D Metroid game since that. In Metroid: Zero Mission as well as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, there are some things that can charge the speed while Samus is in Morph Ball mode. The Speed Booster will make its first 3D appearance in Metroid: Other M.
