The Speed Booster is an ability allowing Samus to run with an increased speed. Once in Speed Mode, Samus can destroy any regular enemy by running into them. There is also a secret technique introduced in Super Metroid, shown by the Dachora, called the Shinespark. It has been in every 2D Metroid game since that. In Metroid: Zero Mission as well as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, there are some things that can charge the speed while Samus is in Morph Ball mode.
