The Grapple Beam remains the same in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption besides its name change to "Grapple Swing". Due to the Wii's controls, Samus can now aim and fire while swinging. In Corruption, there are four new forms of the Grapple Beam.
In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption the Grapple Beam is the the name used for the ship upgrade to pick up large objects, but there is an item, the Grapple Lasso, that once upgraded with the Grapple Swing, functions the same as in previous games. The ship upgrade is aquired in SkyTown, and Samus uses it throughout the game. It is first used to assemble the Theronian Bomb. The Grapple Lasso, once fully upgraded, functions like the previous Grapple Beams, but it can also be used to rip things from your path. Much later in the game, it can also drain or give energy to electrical devices.
