Game(s)

Metroid Prime

Glider Riding is a sport mentioned in Metroid Prime in which participants attempt to grapple onto a Glider and remain on it for as long as possible.[1]

Because Gliders have unusual magnetic properties, their blue undersides are vulnerable to common Grapple Beam technology. This biological oddity inspired the sport; Gliders are quite docile, however, even becoming completely motionless once Grappled, suggesting that they provide little challenge to riders. Therefore, though the rules are similar to Earth's sport of Bull riding, the physical challenge appears to lie outside of the animal's reaction.
