Aeion makes a return in Metroid Dread where on [[ZDR]] it is seen with different behavior than on SR388. In Dread, Aeion regenerates naturally after Samus performs any action when integrated in Samus's Power Suit, though it is not able to be pulled from while it regenerates.<ref>{{cite|After deactivation, Aeion will begin to recharge automatically once {{Color|#fafa33|Samus makes any actions}}. In this game you only recieve three Aeion abilities. The first one you would normally get on a regular playthrough is the Phantom Cloak, an ability which allows you to become fully invisible and soundless, making for a near perfect way to escape the game's many EMMIs. Another ability is the Flash Shift, an incredible power that lets you near instantaneously move to either side of you up to three times, this makes for the perfect way to escape a tough situation if you're in a pinch. Finally, the last one you would normally get during a regular playthrough is the Pulse Radar, similar to the Scan Pulse this ability allows you to scan for hidden blocks and find hidden pathways, making it much easier to find those pesky collectibles that just don't seem to want to come out of hiding.
