The Amorbis

The Amorbis are a species of worm like creatures native to Dark Aether. They are found in Dark Agon, where they serve as the boss of the area.

Battle

To defeat Amorbis, Samus must first damage it whilst it is tunneling in and out of the ground. Once it has recieved enough damage it will attach to the black orb in the centre of the arena, drawing power from the orb in order to spew dark energy. When attached it gains a layer of armor and a type of "crown", which will allow Amorbis to cover Light Crystals with sludge, this Light Crystals cannot be cleared but will eventually relight themselves. Samus must now destroy the "crown" using the Light Beam, Power Beam or Missiles. Once this is done, Amorbis will fall to the ground and begin inhaling Dark Aethers atmosphere. It is at this point when Samus can enter Morph Ball mode and enter its body to lay Bombs. Once done Amorbis will spit her out and another Amorbis will emerge and the process must be repeated.

After laying bombs in the two, a third will emerge. When more than one Amorbis is attached to the orb they can generate an orb of shadow energy, which fires devastating lasers at Samus. After bombs are laid in all three, Amorbis will be defeated and will cause the orb to shatter, leaving behind the Dark Suit.

Logbook Entry

  • Amorbis:"The enormous Amorbis can move through solid rock and earth with ease, and can sense the location of surface-level prey deep within the ground. They will attempt to ram any target they can find in their domain. They are vulnerable to all forms of weapons fire, but are incredibly strong and resistant to pain."
  • Dark Amorbis:"The Amorbis can attach themselves to the Dark Sphere, drawing potent energy from within. They can fire dark energy at Light Crystals, nullifying Safe Zones for a short time. They can also channel this energy into powerful beam attacks. Bioscans indicate a weak spot inside the creature’s mouth. Concentrate your fire at this area to damage an Amorbis."
