The '''Cortex CPU''' is a room in the [[Vesper Defense Outpost]]. It is divided into two sections.

One section of the room acts as a [[Morph Ball]] puzzle. Found in this area are platforms that [[Samus]] can [[Bomb Jump|jump]] on using [[Morph Ball Bomb]]s. She can obtain a [[Missile Expansion]] by using these platforms. 

The other connecting section contains the central processing unit and the Cortex Chamber, which controls the entire neural ensemble.<ref name="cpu">{{cite|Controls the entire neural ensemble by processing input from the thalamic coil.|Scan Data|Metroid Prime Hunters}}</ref> By using her [[Scan Visor]], Samus deactivates multiple panels that deny access to the [[Battlehammer]]. After this, she rolls to this power-up through a Morph Ball tunnel. A [[Green Force Field]] must be destroyed to exit this section after obtaining the Battlehammer.
