'''Phantoon''' is a boss that appears in the [[Wrecked Ship]] on [[Zebes]] in ''[[Super Metroid]]'', and is one of the four main bosses that must be defeated to gain access to [[Tourian]].  Unlike the other bosses, which must be found after much exploration of their respective areas, Phantoon must be defeated before [[Samus Aran|Samus]] can explore the rest of the Wrecked Ship.  For much of the fight, Phantoon will either be invisible or intangible; it may only be damaged when he becomes completely solid and visible.  It attacks using blue flames, often sending them out in a spiral pattern, a circle, in a row, or individually.
