Other M
Phantoon appears as the final boss of Metroid: Other M at the Control Bridge. It has grown considerably since its Super Metroid appearance, and is one of the largest bosses Samus has fought to date.
Battle
Phantoon smashes the reinforced glass of the Control Bridge with its massive tentacles, eliminating gravity control and oxygen supply fairly early, although Samus remains safe with the Gravity Feature. It will start summoning extensions of itself, Rage Hands to try to grab and attack Samus. It will also create vortexes that will pull Samus in, and detonate when she reaches the center, and fires swarms of plasma tears that home in on Samus, unlike their Super Metroid counterparts.
When weakened enough, Phantoon's eye will fall to the ground, and becomes vulnerable to a Lethal Strike. If not performed, Phantoon will simply get back up and continue to fight until its health is completely depleted.
