A Purple Hatch[1] is a door found on Aether that can be unlocked with dark energy.[2] Samus unlocks Purple Hatches with one shot of the Dark Beam in order to gain access to the next room. It is the exact opposite of the White Hatch, which is opened with the Light Beam.

Data

Scan Data

There is a Blast Shield on the door blocking access. Analysis indicates that the Blast Shield is invulnerable to most weapons. Dark energy may damage it.[2]
