*Though Samus is usually portrayed with blonde hair, in the original ''[[Metroid (game)|Metroid]]'' Samus is depicted as a redhead. Within the same game, when using the Varia Suit as Justin Bailey, Samus has bright green hair. When using the Power Suit in Metroid (1986), Samus' is a brunette. In the Super Metroid Nintendo Power comic, Samus is depicted with lavender-colored hair. In Zebes Invasion Order, she is seen with dark black hair. In a colorized Metroid II, Samus has red hair.

*The Zero Suit takes on several different forms throughout Metroid games. The first-ever depiction of the Zero Suit was in Metroid Zero Mission, Samus' start as a freelance Bounty Hunter. The Zero Suit covers Samus completely from neck-to-toe in a cyan, skin-tight bodysuit with magenta Chozo sigils on her back, left breast, and the back of her left hand. Differences between the zero suits appear in Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Prime 3, Metroid Other M, and Metroid Samus Returns. The Zero Suit has no canon name within any Metroid game.
