The Spring Ball is an upgrade of Samus Aran's that allows her Morph Ball to jump without using a Morph Ball Bomb.

However, the Spring Ball is not referred to in your inventory. In Metroid Prime 3, the Spring Ball is mentioned in your inventory separately from the Morph Ball Bomb. However you possess both from the beginning so it cannot be determined whether they were acquired separately.
