The Spring Ball is an upgrade of Samus Aran's that allows her to jump while in Morph Ball mode without using a Morph Ball Bomb.

In Metroid Prime 1, and 2, you acquire the ability to perform an action akin to the Spring Ball as soon as the morph ball bomb is acquired. However, the Spring Ball is not referred to in your inventory. In Metroid Prime 3, the Spring Ball is mentioned in your inventory separately from the Morph Ball Bomb. However you possess both from the beginning so it cannot be determined whether they were acquired separately.
