'''Sylux''' is a blue-suited [[Bounty Hunter]] from the [[Metroid Prime (series)|''Metroid Prime'' series]]. He is skilled at stealth and tracking, as well as a formidable marksman. Not much is known about Sylux, as he has only appeared twice: once in ''[[Metroid Prime Hunters]]'' and a brief possible appearance in ''[[Metroid Prime 3: Corruption]]''. What is apparent is that he has an unexplained hatred for [[Samus Aran]] and the [[Galactic Federation]].

===Shock Coil===

Sylux is fitted with the [[Shock Coil]] weapon, which shoots a small, continuous beam of blue electricity. If this connects with the opponent, he slowly begins to drain the opponent's health, and as the beam is connected, the rate of the drainage will increase. If Sylux is the one using this weapon (which is not always the case since it is obtainable in the story and multiplayer mode) the drained health returns to Sylux, adding to his own.

Sylux's alternate form is known as the "Lockjaw." It is similar to, but faster than, the morph ball. The Lock Jaw can leave a maximum of three bombs behind it. However, these bombs will not detonate unless touched by an opponent. Instead, if the bombs are close together, a trip wire will connect the first two and will link all three, and home in on an opponent.

Sylux first appears in ''Metroid Prime Hunters'' in a  cinematic scene in the introduction which shows him attacking a Federation Ship on a snowy planet, presumably its own world. Once the [[Alimbic Cluster]] sends out its cryptic message, Sylux follows Samus with a goal of attaining the power for his own. Samus first meets Sylux on the [[Vesper Defense Outpost]].

His ship, the [[Delano 7]] is an opposition to [[Samus Aran's Gunship|Samus's gunship]]. Samus encounters this vehicle twice: once when it flies overhead on [[Alinos]] and again when it assists Sylux in battle against her.

Sylux's ship or a ship of similar design is seen in following Samus in the secret ending obtained with a 100% completion of the game.

A cutscene after the credits shows Sylux breaking into a "Federated Force research station". He uses a device on his arm to hack the stasis tube containing a Metroid Egg, causing it to hatch. The camera then zooms out to show the individual has a shoulder spike resembling that of Sylux. Logan Foster, a contract environment artist for the game, confirmed it was Sylux in the ending.

For years after the release of ''Corruption'', it was speculated that the pilot of the ship was Sylux due to the ship's resemblance to the ''Delano 7''. At E3 2015, the producer of the ''Metroid Prime'' series, Kensuke Tanabe, confirmed that the pilot was in fact Sylux. He referred to Sylux using male pronouns and expressed interest in developing a game about Samus and Sylux.<ref name = "e3 2015"/><ref name = "mp3 end">[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9JAf_WwTE8 Metroid Prime 3 Corruption 100% Secret Ending]</ref> This potential game would be released after ''Metroid Prime: Federation Force'', which was meant to flesh out the role of the [[Galactic Federation]] in the series. An interview with Richard Vorodi, the story designer of ''Hunters'', was published on August 6, 2020. In it, he said that a "great backstory" exists for Sylux, with "a lot of threaded storytelling in there, that made using the character in other games a good fit."
