Autoads are robotic creatures presumably of Chozo origin that roamed freely throughout SR388. The robots hop around rather then other methods of transportation.

Etymology
Autoad is likely a portmanteau of the words "auto" and "toad". The automatically running, self-sufficient robot accounts for the "auto" prefix. "Toad" is reflected by the fact that it constantly hops around.
