It houses one of the three Temples that holds the Energy Controller used to help rid Aether of its Dark counterpart. Most of the area is a barren landscape home of many dangerous predators, including Sandiggers, Sandbats, Brizgees, and Lumites. The desert is comprised of small Luminoth Mining stations.
