Brinstar is a cavernous-jungle section of the Planet Zebes. It is also the second level of the planet to be accessed in Super Metroid, and the first to be accessed in the original Template:Ga and Metroid: Zero Mission. Brinstar is also a stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Brinstar is a highly tropical, and humid section of Zebes, located just beneath the planet's surface, known as Crateria. It his home to numerous types of vegetation (many of which are carnivorous), as well as home to over 60 percent of the planet's life-forms. Among it's inhabitants is also the saurian, Space Pirate's military leader, Kraid, located in the area's deepest points. Other notable creatures, the Etecoons and Dachora, teach Samus how to Wall Jump and perform a Shinespark, in Super Metroid.
