The first part of the room is filled with structures and machines built by the [[Space Pirate]]s, while the second area is essentially a cave of [[Phazon]]. The two areas are separated by a force field. Two Space Pirates are in an area next to the force field. When [[Samus Aran|Samus]] first enters the room, she will be in an upper area with a number of terminals. One of these can be [[Scan Visor|scanned]] to deactivate the force field. If she has not killed the Pirates, [[Tallon Metroid]]s will enter from the cave portion and attack them. After defeating the Pirates, they will attack Samus.
