== Template cleanup ==
I was looking into fixing up the infobox css and noticed there's already a css class setup in [[MediaWiki:Common.css]] for the infobox.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's used very much. I did a search and it seems like there are a lot of different [[:Category:Infobox Templates|infobox templates]].  Should they all look the same (300px width, identical colouring, borders), or do they have deeper complexities than that?  Could we tackle them one by one, activate the common infobox stylings, and then clean it up and refine it till it looks good? Where should we start? -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 05:00, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
:I'm not the master infobox maker here, but as far as I know the only things that change from infobox to infobox are the parameters (game, planet, vulnerabilities, family, voice actor, etc), with the exception of the infoboxes made specifically for each GAME (which have different background images). Other than that I'm pretty sure they all look and function the same way. (A few may also add categories. Not sure.)
:So I'm all for creating a more uniform system. Whatever you guys decide is the best way to go about it, I'm willing to be a drone to help implement. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 17:09, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
::I've got a bot that can take care of changes, and most of it should only be in the templates themselves, so that shouldn't be a problem.  Which do you think is a good infobox to start with? Perhaps, something that is used in only a few locations. (I fixed the link above for the infobox category). -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 18:00, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
:::[[Template:Console-infobox]] and [[Template:Company-infobox]] are only used on three articles each. Those would probably work well. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 18:53, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
::::Well, looking through the history, turns out infobox [[Template talk:Planet-infobox|used to be]] the class to use, but then it was replaced by inline css...  Looks like this will be much more complicated than I expected. I've started a [[Template:Company-infobox/WIP|WIP]], we'll see if I can get it looking right. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 01:15, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
==Resizing GIF files==
I'm not sure if this is a MediaWiki related issue, but I know something similar has come up in the past: When I tried to resize the gif file in the [[Draygon]] article infobox, the image wouldn't show up in the preview. The |thumb parameter worked, and it displayed fine without any resize parameters at all, but using |150px or the like generated blank images. Any idea what might be causing this? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 18:45, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
== Ugly Template ==
Can someone tack a whack at fixing the [[Template:Trophy|Trophy Template]]? The "NavHeader" needs to remain [[Template:round|round]] and not be changed to [[Template:roundt|roundt]] because when the "hide" function is toggled it looks ugly otherwise. But when it's set to round it doesn't fit inside the nav borders the same way the other cells do. Check out the [[Template_talk:Trophy|talk page]] for all the gory details. Thanks! {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 21:26, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
== Wiki Coverage of Smash Bros. ==
Ok, here's something that I think needs to come up again. Should we be covering all the Super Smash Bros. games? I don't think it's relevant to have long lists of characters that have nothing to do with the Metroidverse on badly written articles on a Metroid wiki. Check out [[:Category:Super_Smash_Bros.|this category]] for some of the pages in question. I say we kill them all, or merge most of them into brief synopses with links to the wikis that should be covering them (like SmashWiki and MarioWiki, for example). Thoughts? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 03:26, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
:I think either we just get rid of the game pages completely and stick to [[Metroid in the Super Smash Bros. Series]], or we keep one page for each game (just like the Metroid games) but keep the content to a minimum.  I'm not too sure if [[Sticker]] and [[Trophy]] are within scope here though. Also, I think we should make it obvious which links are external links, maybe with icons beside them. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 22:32, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
::The icon idea is good, as for the Smash Bros. content, maybe get rid of Sticker and Trophy. If there is something specific that has trophies or stickers, we should mention them on its article. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 05:49, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
:::Let's do what the Zelda Wiki (my home wiki :P) did. They made pages for each game, the series itself, glitches, hacks, items, and characters, but tended to talk mostly about its relationship with Zelda. But, they kept everything short and simple, and reminded the reader that the Smash Wiki had more in-depth articles. Does that sound good? — [[User:Phaazonian|Phaazonian]] ([[User talk:Phaazonian|Talk]]) 16:55, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
::::I'm all for killing the Sticker and Trophy pages and merging that content into the [[Metroid in the Super Smash Bros. Series]] article. Honestly, '''I feel like this Wiki is struggling as it is just to get the Metroid series covered and the Smash articles are a waste of resources and time'''. We have a whole SmashWiki dedicated to it, as well as the powerhouses like Mario Wiki which are covering it too (though I don't really know why. It isn't exactly a Mario game, is it? By the same logic, why would a Metroid Wiki have a page with a list of Smash characters?).
::::The general consensus seems to be that we merge everything. If there aren't any objections, I'm thinking a good way to do this, rather than make separate articles for each game and the series, is to merge ALL of that content into just one article. [[Super Smash Bros. (game)]], [[Super Smash Bros. Melee]], and [[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]], as well as [[Super Smash Bros. (series)]], [[Sticker]], and [[Trophy]] could all redirect to [[Metroid in the Super Smash Bros. Series]], where we'd have a nice synopsis of everything, and then just stick to Metroid. Cuz let's get real, if anyone is coming to Metroid Wiki it all it isn't to read about Smash Bros. Any comments? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 01:46, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
So I completely revamped the [[Metroid in the Super Smash Bros. Series]] page and merged all the information onto it from the other pages. If everyone likes the look of it and there are no objections, I'll redirect all the other pages to that one (Or delete them, if they're irrelevant), probably on Friday. I realize that the page is pretty huge; I personally don't have a problem with it the way it is right now, but if anyone doesn't like the size we could divvy it up into ''Metroid in (game)'' rather than ''Metroid in (series)''. But like I said, that might not be necessary. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 22:34, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
:I looks quite nice, it may be better to split it into multiple articles in my opinion. The new Smash Bros. content will add a lot to the page. The only other thing I think it needs is some better interwiki links. I'll have some time to take care of it this weekend, probably will make templates for all NIWA wikis. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 04:14, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
::Do you think it'd be possible to add a link to the StrategyWiki guide on each of the game pages as well? -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 14:22, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
:::Good point! I'll add those. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 19:49, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
== Wave of account creations ==
I checked the IP of several of the new users at random and there is no match between any of them. It's pretty reasonable to say that these are spam creations, would there by a way to make it tougher for these to get through? {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 04:02, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
:Asirra (the cat captcha) was shut down earlier this month, so I switched to a very basic captcha temporarily.  I'm going to activate a newer captcha soon, so it should stop them. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 16:14, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
== Interwiki links ==
I mentioned making these a while ago for articles that should be linked to other wikis like the Smash Bros. articles. I'm thinking we use their icon next to the link, for example [[File:BPIcon.png]][[bulbapedia:Greninja|Greninja]]. Opinions? {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 02:45, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
:I like it! It'd be nice to tell at a glance, without hovering, where the link goes. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 16:08, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
::Sorry for taking so long on this. I have two thoughts on how we can implement it:
::<nowiki>{{bulbapedia|Greninja}}</nowiki> or <nowiki>{{interwiki|bulbapedia|Greninja}}</nowiki>
::Both could give the same image+link, but one more complex template vs 22+. Opinions? {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 18:46, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
:::I think either way is fine, but probably making one template would be better if we ever wanted to change anything about it. So my vote is for making <nowiki>{{interwiki}}</nowiki>, but I'm fine with either. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 18:59, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
== Front Page Cleanup ==
So there's a couple things I've been thinking about:
* '''Rotating the Featured Articles and Images.''' Voting has been stagnant and the look of the front page hasn't changed for some time as a result. I thinking rotating our handful of features each visit will keep it looking fresher than the tabbed templates we have now.
* '''Skype Chat and Skype Archives.''' Also stagnant. I say if we aren't using it, we should throw it out and replace it with something better.
* '''Remember Me?''' Nothing actually seems to link to these pages anymore. We could just leave them for a while, but at the moment they're not doing anything.
* '''Wiki Lore:''' This is an idea we tossed around. They'd be editorial articles that we'd write ourselves and/or invite contributors to write. I'm thinking we could release them on a monthly basis. It would give us some exclusive content. I already have several in the works -- if we're going to launch this I think it would be good to have a bumper crop of articles so we don't fall behind in publishing them. It would replace the ''Editor Station'' space.
Thoughts? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 16:16, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
: Main page definitely could use some touch ups.
*Featured content: Randomizing to avoid stagnation sounds good to me.
*Skype: we could remove the archives. The public chat is a mixed bag, not much wiki chat goes on in there, but there's still Metroid related discussions going on. If you do have an idea for something better I'd still be interested in hearing it, particularly for staff communication.
*Remember Me:It's already removed from the main page, but I think we should still have them archived.
*Wiki Lore:I think it'd be a cool new addition. Would you be able to share the topics of what you're working on now? {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 05:12, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
::Ok, great. I'll look into randomizing the rotation, unless you beat me to it. As for staff communication, I'm leaning towards a forum; it's easier to document and check regularly, imo. What do you think? Any ideas for where we could do that? Maybe NIWA...
::Remember Me is basically archived, so I guess we can leave that as is. The three Wiki Lore projects I'm working on are interviews with major figures in the ''Metroid'' community; I'll email you my drafts and some other details. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 17:55, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
== Simplifying the Sidebar + Projects/Maintenance ==
I noticed while on Inkipedia that they've got a couple things going for them as far as community navigation that I think would be great to implement here:
*Simplified sidebar. Ours is cluttered and unhelpful. Specifically, I'm thinking we can drop the "Featured Articles" and "Featured Pictures," which are pretty much dead features on this site right now anyway, and also drop the "Random Page" and "Random Picture" links, and maybe even the "Wanted Pages." I think it would make the sidebar a lot more sleek.
*[[inkipedia:Inkipedia:Projects|Projects]] and [[inkipedia:Inkipedia:Maintenance|Maintenance]] pages, which are great. I'd love to have those (and put them on the sidebar), especially for documenting particular on-going issues in more detail (like some of our Metroid Prime room articles, which exist but don't have the proper layout, enough sources, or images).
Thoughts? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 23:33, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
:*I personally like the Random Page feature. I'd suggest getting rid of About Us (linked at the bottom of the page), Featured Articles/Pictures (listed on the front page), Wanted Pages (not likely to be used frequently), Random Picture (generally comes along with page), and ''maybe'' sandbox. I'd also suggest merging the Community and Wiki Editing sections, since there may not be enough links in each section to warrant a separation.
:*Maintenance is nice to centralize some commonly used pages and [[StrategyWiki:StrategyWiki:Cleanup project/Long term tasks|StrategyWiki]] also has something similar. Projects are also good for organization, but they're very hard to keep going without a few people already active in it.
:-- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 01:45, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
::All sounds good to me. I agree that projects will be hard to keep going, but since I'm basically the only active editor (and not even that active, now that Splatoon has taken over my life), I'm not going to worry too much about how much support these pages garner right now; I'm thinking more long term (aka wishful thinking). If you're all for these changes, I'll let you go ahead and implement them however you think looks good (feel free to put red links on the sidebar if you don't feel like creating them now and I'll throw something together). {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 02:39, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
:::I've made most of the changes.  Once pages are created, we can add them to the sidebar. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 04:52, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
::::I created the [[Metroid Wiki:Maintenance]] and [[Metroid Wiki:Projects]] pages and added them to the sidebar, such as they are. Thoughts? {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 18:42, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
== Random function ==
I noticed the <nowiki><random></nowiki> functions aren't working anymore (ex: [[Samus Aran]]). Not sure what caused it or how to fix it. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 05:26, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
:I got rid of the RandomText extension and replaced it with the RandomSelection extention since the other wikis use this and the syntax is cleaner.  I've fixed the syntax on that page so it looks like it's working properly again. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 06:42, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
== New Help Guide Nav ==
I've been rewriting and trimming the help pages as well as [[User:Embyr_75/Sandbox#New_Help_Guide_Nav|working on a new nav]]. I'd like to merge our four (why do we need four separate pages!?!?!) policy pages, and eliminate unhelpful pages completely, namely the '''web-safe colors''', [[Help:Featured Content Nomination]] (which I'm currently treating as dead and also scheming to remove from the front page), Help:User Accounts, [[Help:User Rights]], and Help:Protected Pages. I'm also thinking that Help:Custom Signatures can be merged into [[Help:Advanced Functions]].
Any thoughts on this overhaul and on the [[User:Embyr_75/Sandbox#New_Help_Guide_Nav|beta new help guide nav]]? If we like the simple, image-oriented motif, I was thinking we could remove the featured image/article from the front page and create a similar, community-oriented nav for the front page (which could potentially go on the [[Metroid Wiki:Discussion Center|Discussion Center]], [[Metroid Wiki:Projects|Projects]], [[Metroid Wiki:Maintenance|Maintenance]], and other relevant pages too). The front page a little messy and disorganized at the moment. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 05:22, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
:UPDATE: I also started constructing a nav for the community pages/front page. I couldn't decide between three headers and now I'm thinking we could just rotate them, and implement the same rotation for the Help Guide nav. Input please! Cuz if I don't get input I'm just gonna go crazy and start changing things!! ^_^ {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 17:04, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
::For elimination of unhelpful pages, I think those listed can be removed. Merging custom signatures into advances functions sounds fine to me. As for the changes to the front page, I'd like to check it on a higher res computer before giving any major feedback but I do think it looks great so far. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 03:07, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
:::Roger that! Thanks for the feedback. {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 03:36, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

:Looks like our show/hide function isn't working, I've notified one of the other admins to see if anything can be done. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 01:34, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
::I think I've fixed it. Please try now. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 02:30, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

== I've got a question, ==
== How should Zoomers and Geemers be handled? ==

Why is this on the most viewed pages? {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 02:18, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
In Japan, the enemy [[Geemer]] is called ジーマ (Jiima) and [[Zoomer]] is likely a mistranslation, because save for Zero Mission the rest of the main series calls them Geemers in English (also ヅ (dzu) and ジ (ji) look alike.) But in the Prime series, both Zoomers and Geemers are there, and in the Japanese version they are called ギーマー (Giimaa). Should all Zoomer data besides Prime's also be with Geemer, since they are technically the same creature? [[User:Zharkaer|Zharkaer]] ([[User talk:Zharkaer|talk]]) 08:53, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
:Because It's been viewed 8,228 times :P {{User:TheSuperZeldaMan/sig}} 02:21, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Excuse me for not knowing much about Japan V English copies, you said save for Zero Mission. Are they called Zoomers in the english copy? [[User:Phoenix!|Phoenix!]] ([[User talk:Phoenix!|talk]]) 01:16, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
:Yes, the only games to call them Zoomers in English are Metroid 1, Zero Mission, and the Prime series, I believe. [[User:Zharkaer|Zharkaer]] ([[User talk:Zharkaer|talk]]) 04:50, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

==Just wondering,==
In that case, I would support having 3 articles, Zoomer/Geemer in all other games article, Zoomer (prime) article, and Geemer (prime) article

Is there some way to browse images that have already been uploaded? Like, for example, if I wanted a picture of a [[Hunter Metroid]], is there a way to tell if someone has already uploaded such a picture without knowing the specific file name? If this is somehow obvious and I am missing something, just let me know, but the Help only tells how to upload new images, not browse ones already there. If there are images that can be used, I'd rather use them than uploading brand new ones. --[[User:Nintendbob|Nintendbob]] 15:37, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
== Request to Combine Green, Orange, Purple, Silver, Red, and Gold credit articles ==

:Go to the category to which a Hunter Metroid would fall under. Usually, such an image would already be added to the page, but occasionally people upload images before the page is created and an unused image just sits there. Head on over to [[Special:SpecialPages]] to find an array of lists that may be useful. More specifically, go [[Special:UncategorizedFiles|here]] to look at uncategorized files which you wouldn't find under any category. [[Special:UnusedFiles|There]] to go to files that are unused, that is, they don't appear on any page. And [[Special:Categories|there]] to view all categories. [[:Category:Enemies|The enemies category]] or [[:Category:Metroids|Metroids category]] would be where an image of a Hunter Metroid would be if it existed. Hope some of that helped! {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 17:29, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
The problem with all 6 of these articles is that they are stubs and extremely similar, so combining them into 1 article removes 6 stubs and simply looks cleaner.
::Thanks for taking the time to tell me all this, it really helps --[[User:Nintendbob|Nintendbob]] 18:29, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

== Justin BAILEY ==
The article can have the title "Credits (insert something)". The insert something is to seperate it from other articles about staff credits.
[[User:Phoenix!|Phoenix!]] ([[User talk:Phoenix!|talk]]) 01:16, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
:On a similar note, is there really a point in having separate articles for all the [[Door]] types? [[User:Zharkaer|Zharkaer]] ([[User talk:Zharkaer|talk]]) 06:04, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

So, Justin Bailey or JUSTIN BAILEY. Same with Bottle Ship. Both are referred to in game as ALL CAPS. But otherwise, they're simply known as lowercase. {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 06:27, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
== Should email address be required for new accounts? ==

== Happy First Birthday Metroid Wiki ==
On this wiki, a login is required to edit pages, analogous to requiring a login to post on a forum. But while nearly all forums also require an email address to be specified, this wiki doesn't require that, even for new accounts. So how about making email confirmation a requirement for all new accounts. The requirement should not affect existing users who have not (yet) specified a valid email address.

We've officially been online for one year now, so let the celebrations begin. A huge thanks goes to all of our contributors, our staff and to NIWA for their support. Be sure to check out our [[Special:Statistics|statistics page]] for all the stats of what we've achieved in our first year. Here's to a great year and many more to come. Thanks again everyone. {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 22:05, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
After all, many users here are registered on forums where this is required, how about specifying the same email address here as on those forums?--[[User:Xanthipos|Xanthipos]] ([[User talk:Xanthipos|talk]]) 19:52, 30 January 2019 (UTC)
:What benefit does that provide? -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 20:29, 30 January 2019 (UTC)
:: Same benefits as the equivalent does on many forums? To require it here would not exclude anyone who is not excluded on most forums.--[[User:Xanthipos|Xanthipos]] ([[User talk:Xanthipos|talk]]) 00:50, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
:::That doesn't answer the question, so I'd have to say there's no reason to require it and we won't be changing our policy. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 05:34, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

::::Metroidking devotes himself to this wiki. When in the position of nearly permanent hiatus, you're sure to think that "Well, Metroidking's there, he'll work things out." He primarily serves as the backbone of what keeps this wiki going, making sure that everything is precise and perfect to the smallest detail. Considering the small amount of helpers in this wiki, it's clear that Josh will always do the job, because he really cares about it. It doesn't matter if someone's been slacking for months when you have someone like Metroidking around. - {{User:TheSuperZeldaMan/sig}} 03:39, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

This story may be long and overly detailed. While I was editing in MarioWiki, I happened to look at their article on Link, and even though he's not a Mario character, I fixed up inaccuracies referring to the Zelda series and went on my way. Logged in again last night, one user was fixing [[mariowiki:Samus Aran|MarioWiki's article on Samus]] for inaccuracy within the Metroid series, apparently because he noticed me doing it, and he was linking to Wikitroid for further info. Another user got in an edit war over whether to link here or Wikitroid, an admin stopped all the action and said that the MarioWiki admins would discuss this. I asked for a list of articles that were specifically not detailed enough to provide good info, and I got an explanation about the whole thing. Regardless of the MarioWiki admins decide, I agree that our articles on the pages that would provide basic background info on Samus are woefully poor; almost all, if not all are stubs, and most don't have complete write-ups for just the in-game sections. This seems to be impairing our ability to provide a source of information for people who are more interested in those topics. I think that I, personally, would like to focus on certain articles that would help provide background information on Samus so that we can be a better source to link to than Wikipedia or Wikitroid. {{User:Bop1996/sig}} 12:29, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
== Question regarding Dread's, Samus Returns, and Prime Remastered ==

:Not overly detailed. We've known about the need to expand the more important articles that would be linked to from other NIWA wikis for a while. Unfortunately those said articles are also amongst the hardest to write. Take the Samus article for example, it has to cover every game in the series but also can't seem like a rephrasing of the content that will later be on [[Metroid (series)]]. Would you mind getting a list of the pages that MarioWiki is much more likely to link to? It will help us get a much better idea of which articles to prioritized with expansion. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 20:13, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Hello, I wanted to ask a question in regards to some of the pages for Dread, Samus Returns, and Prime Remastered. I have noticed a number of these pages are incomplete and wanted to ask if I could help at all for any of these pages. I have capture card capabilities and would be able to at least get pictures and footage for Prime Remastered and Dread, though I don't want to just go ahead and add anything without permission. I know given the current state of this wiki not much has happened and have read the Copy Right page, though I just wanted to get clarification on if adding my own footage and captures are ok to better help these games pages get updated.

::Hmm, I see what happened on Mario Wiki. Yeah, unfortunately it's been a constant problem on Metroid Wiki, we have detailed information when it comes to less significant articles like [[Vaccine "Metroid"]] or [[Paralyzer]] but somehow leave the [[Samus Aran|most]] [[Chozo|important]] articles naked of info. The only real solution of course is to have better info on our pages. [http://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Samus_Aran&diff=prev&oldid=1064495 This edit] and following edits show what articles we'd really, really need work on. {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 20:34, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

:::That particular edit war was the epicenter, as for other links out there, there is no set policy on how MarioWiki links to affiliates, apparently, according to one of the admins I asked regarding such a policy, there was a debate about it that ended with an unfinished template being added to a bunch of articles. I believe that most of the articles that seriously need work are in that edit, although almost anything Smash Bros. could possibly be linked here. I believe some trivia references out there link to here, since the Mario series doesn't take itself as seriously as the others... In particular, some WarioWare games link here due to them being based off Metroid stuffs. The edits from the edit history Malaka256 posted are the most important as far as links, as a lot of other wikis probably link there as well. The fact the Vaccine "Metroid" article is better than [[Samus Aran]] or [[Morph Ball]] is not much of an in-wiki problem so much as a problem where we aren't able to provide further reading for users of other wikis. {{User:Bop1996/sig}} 12:29 20 June 2011 (UTC)
:Those pages could really use some help. Your changes have been good so far, so please continue.

== Proposals ==
Hello. I have noticed that Metroid HQ and Metroid Database link to either error pages or an unrelated game ad. I think these links either need to be updated or removed. Metroid HQ has seemingly not posted anything on any social media since 2021, but this is only from a basic Google search, and I think Database has just changed their url. [[User:SuperaJokera|SuperaJokera]] ([[User talk:SuperaJokera|talk]]) 18:12, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

After seeing [[Trooper Pirate|this page]], I was just wondering if the proposal concerning it was neglected or if it has actually been dragging on for seven months. Is there a page that describes how proposals work here (other than the fact that someone proposes something, and people can support, oppose, and/or comment)? Just in case clarification is necessary, I'm wondering if this wiki has [[mariowiki:Proposals|anything like this]]. [[User:Metroid4Ever|<span style="font-family:vivaldi;color:white"><font size="5.5"><b>Metroid</b></font></span>]][[User talk:Metroid4Ever|<span style="font-family:vivaldi;color:white"><font size="5.5"><b>4Ever</b></font></span>]] 03:49, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
:I have since looked in Metroid Database, and they have seemingly removed this Wiki from their list of affiliates. [[User:SuperaJokera|SuperaJokera]] ([[User talk:SuperaJokera|talk]]) 18:18, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
:I believe that since the community is still getting off the ground, the system for resolving arguments is similar to the one Xzelion, Plumber, and Master Crash proposed at MarioWiki. I believe the TPPs are just waiting for someone with the time to get to them (that has happened a few times on MarioWiki as well). This may be better answered by an admin like MetroidKing or Malake, but since you're trying to find something here comparable to what the system is on MarioWiki, I figured I'd answer the MarioWiki related portions. {{User:Bop1996/sig}} 11:47, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
::I like that idea, after we see what Malake thinks we might just implement something like it. {{:User:Metroidking/sig}} 17:06, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
:::What we implementing? MW isn't very organized when it comes to technical details like that to be honest, there's no set number of oppositions or supports needed for anything to happen, usually stuff happens on a majority consensus. Whenever something comes up, we try to discuss it, but I guess Trooper Pirate didn't pick up enough interest. So it does seem to have been neglected. {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 01:31, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
::::I believe what the problem being brought to attention is would be the fact that there really is no rules for proposals whatsoever. The page Metroid4Ever linked to on MarioWiki clearly specifies the rules needed in order to create a TPP, and it is a general page where proposals on larger topics can be created. What my issue is is that since we have under ten users that edit weekly or daily, and participate in these types of discussions, a good deal of any proposals that we may propose here would likely be marked "No Quorum" on MarioWiki; you can simply bring up a problem on an admin's talk page or the article's talk page and most likely some sort of consensus will be reached, so a proposals page or a really concise list of rules on TPPs may not be necessary. I suggest that we implement this one rule: the proposer must take action if the proposal passes. {{User:Bop1996/sig}} 11:50, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
:::::You're probably right on that "No Quorum" thing. In the case of the Trooper Pirate, it's been too long to have that notice template up. But for future cases, really simply making a talk page post would be enough. A lot of things on the wiki are changing though, like our category and image systems, the Help section and Quality sections will be receiving a makeover. Of course that's going to take some time along with the rest of this stuff :/ {{:User:Malake256/sig}} 15:38, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
::::::Yeah, I think that this is what's best for our current userbase. {{User:Bop1996/sig}} 16:34, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
