Morph Ball

The 'Morph Ball is Samus Aran's Alt-Form. When in use, she transforms into a small metallic sphere, which allows her to fit into tight spaces and passages. It features the abilty to lay Morph Ball Bombs and Power Bombs, as well as the ability to perform a quick boost to gain speed and use magnetic rails to travel across normally impassable areas.
Trivia
- The morph ball was actually created because the original Nintendo Entertainment System could not accurately display Samus crawling.
- In the original Metroid, the morph ball is called Maru-Mari. "Maru" means to "circle" or "purity" in Japanese, while "Mari" translates to "ball".
- This means that the translation for the original morph ball was either a redundant "circle-ball" or a "purity ball".
