'''Stone Toads''' are creatures indigenous to the [[Chozo Ruins]] of [[Tallon IV]]. They are equipped with incredibly thick exoskeletons, making them impervious to standard attack forms, hence their name. When a Stone Toad comes to rest somewhere, it is difficult to budge, and because of its size, it can block entire passageways. While they are predatory in nature, Stone Toads will only attack creatures smaller than themselves and will attempt to ingest [[Samus Aran|Samus]] if she is in [[Morph Ball]] mode. Upon discovering she is indigestible, a Stone Toad will promptly regurgitate her; however, if Samus lays a [[Morph Ball Bomb]] while inside the mouth of a Stone Toad, it will explode from the concussive force. According to the [[Metroid Prime Logbook|Logbook]], Stone Toads will use their tusks in combat as a last resort,<ref name="Logbook"/> though this is never seen in-game.
