Usage

This template allows us to display the logbook entries for various enemies and objects in the Metroid Prime games. This is an extremely important template, but it is somewhat abstract to use, it has the following parameters, some of which will hardly ever be used and you probably will not ever have to deal with them. If you have logbook info but cannot use the template, ask an administrator or an experienced user for assistance.

  • Name: Entry Name (e.g. "Beetle" for Beetle's Logbook entry)
  • Entry: Text that appears in the game's logbook, write it out exactly as written in the logbook, even if it has spelling or grammatical errors. Automatically cites the source
  • Type: (chozo, luminoth, trooper, gf, bryyonian, skytown, alimbic, sp mp1, sp mp2, sp mp3) Very important, the type of lore. This determines many parts of the template, so spell them right! In the previous list, they call Chozo Lore (Prime), Luminoth Lore (Echoes), Trooper Logs (Echoes), Galactic Federation Data (Corruption), Bryyonian Data (Corruption), SkyTown Data (Corruption), Alimbic Lore (Hunters), Pirate Data (Prime, sp stands for Space Pirate), Space Pirate Logs (Echoes), and Space Pirate Data (Corruption) respectively. Once again, be sure this is correct.
  • Location: The location the lore can be scanned
  • Clear: (noclear, left, right, or both) Place "none" here if no clear should be used. "left", "right", or "both" also work to signify which direction the clear should be placed (One of those hardly-used parameters, i.e. don't worry about it)
  • Position: (top, mid, or bottom) The position of the template, it helps make the template decide which corners should be rounded, top, both, or bottom corners (don't worry about this either)
  • Reference: ("none") This one is extremely important, the logbook templates automatically cite themselves, however certain cases can prevent this from functioning properly. For ref=, type "ref=none" to remove the reference function from that particular logbook entry. If this is done, add it in manually by writng <ref>{{cite|entry | Logbook | game (with link)}}</ref>. Because of the way the template works, two templates used back-to-back would be referenced under the same thing. To avoid this, write a "marker" under ref= to give the different references. For example, "ref=Dark Samus 1" for the first logbook entry and "ref=Dark Samus 2" for the second entry. (such cases will probably be taken care of by staff or an experienced user). It is automatically set to "Logbook [Entry Name]" and can be used later on in the page as such.
