:I personally like to use GIMP, which is a free program you can download online. Cropping is pretty simple though, you can even use Microsoft Paint (which comes free with your computer if you're using Windows) to color over a watermark or crop it out and it'll do the job credibly. Whatever image editing program you like. =) {{:User:Embyr_75/sig}} 21:58, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Arcwarioman, and welcome to Metroid Wiki! We're glad to have you here, and we hope you'll stay and contribute. Make sure you check out our help guides so you can learn the ropes and policies. Make sure you also check out the Discussion Center, our community hub page where you can talk with other editors. Most importantly, enjoy your time at Metroid Wiki. - The Metroid Wiki Staff

Few things

A few things about editing here. First, please do not add battling strategies to articles, you can mention what weapons they are most vulnerable to but actual battling strategies are not allowed. Second, please do not upload watermarked images. Regarding other images, please make sure that there are not versions of the file already uploaded. File:Echoes Dark Samus.png is the same file you upload, just higher resolution and transparent (which is preferred over solid backgrounds). For the sake of giving you more experience, would you swap the image on your page for the better one? Just be sure to add an image size ([[File:Echoes Dark Samus.png|250px]] would make it the same size as the one you have on your page already.) Finally, when you added an infobox to the Phazon Grub page, you used the wrong one ({{Room-infobox}}). In that instance you would use {{Creature-infobox}}.

If you need help with anything, just let me know. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 22:23, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Other Suggestions

Hey Arc! I answered the question you asked Metroidking on his talk page. Here are a few more pointers to cover the basics of wiki editing:

Use the Show preview button, beside the Save page button, to check your edit for errors before you save. That way, you minimize the amount of edits per article, which helps out the staff, keeps the Recent Changes clean, and keeps a load off the servers.

Lastly, the image you uploaded here File:M2 C Samus LightSuit01 ad.jpg is a duplicate file of this one File:Light Suit.png, but the latter is transparent and better quality. Be sure to check the pages that will have the images you want on them (or the proper category; here's a list of all the categories, or you can check the popular categories on the Main Page).

I hope that helps! Feel free to check the editing help page for more info, or ask any of the staff! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:06, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks!!! I think it looks better then the other one and thanks for the info!!--Arcwarioman 19:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No problem! Here's some more hints: Usually we keep conversations on one talk page, meaning if you ask a question on someone's talk page, they will answer there, or if you are asked a question on your talk page, you should answer here.
Thanks for getting the Jelzap article started! One tip though: You used the Species infobox instead of the Creature infobox. Species are for races like the Chozo or the Luminoth, and Creature is for wildlife/enemies. Easy to get them confused, I know!! But don't worry about it, little errors like that are how we all learn.
Lastly, about watermarked images: Removing a watermark as in the example I posted can be pretty tough. If the watermark is off to the side you can sometimes crop it out, but otherwise you'll just have to find a different image - the purpose of a watermark is to make it so other sites can't take credit for it, and therefore they're intentionally hard to remove!
Anyway, hope that helps. If you have another question, you can leave it here. I'll see if you change your talk page on the Recent Changes. =) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 20:37, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks!! Another question...To "crop" or to remove a watermark, do you need adobe flash or adobe dreamcaster or whatever?--Arcwarioman 21:20, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
