The '''Phazon Enhancement Device''', abbreviated '''PED''', is a type of technology developed by the [[Galactic Federation]]. This suit enables an individual to harness the destructive power of [[Phazon]] for use in battle. The Galactic Federation troopers currently use the PED suit to defeat raids of [[Space Pirates]]. The PED was most notably used by the [[Bounty Hunter]]s [[Samus Aran]], [[Ghor]], [[Rundas]], and [[Gandrayda]] in ''[[Metroid Prime 3: Corruption]]''.  

Normally, a PED suit draws energy from Phazon stored in a backpack. Samus's and the other Bounty Hunters' PED Suits, however, draw energy from the Phazon stored inside of their respective bodies; therefore, Samus must use an [[Energy Tank]] to activate [[Hypermode]]. The PED suit also alters the Morph Ball appearance to a blue form, similar to the bright blue color indicating the presence of Phazon or a [[Phaaze|Phaaze-like]] substance. Its only known appearance is in ''Metroid Prime 3: Corruption''. The PED mode is highly dangerous; prolonged use can ultimately lead to [[Phazon Corruption|total corruption]]. The PED suit also reduces damage inflicted on Samus.
