When they detect intruders they will close off the area to deal with the intruders, the lockdown can only be shut down if the drones are destroyed. At close range that can disrupt Samus's visor. They can easily be overloaded by the electrical pulses of the Wave Beam. Samus encounters them in Phendrana Drifts.[1]
