The Dialanche, the alternate form of the Bounty Hunter Spire, is a hypercondensed orb containing high trace amounts of iron. It's protruding spikes enable Spire to climb surfaces and it's dual retractable arms, made of titanium, can be used to damage enemies.
This transformation appears to be a natural defensive capability of Diamonts, rather than a technological enhancement.
