Biotech Research Area 1 is a room on the Frigate Orpheon. Samus must go through this room twice. The First time is using an upper walkway. This walkway has 2 injured Space Pirates on it. When Samus returns to this room she is in the lower level. This level once contained two glass containers. One has already been shattered, while the other has a living creature that has broken the container. Two Space Pirates are trying to subdue it when an explosion kills them all. After climbing up to the upper level again, a door breaks open, exposing an escape route.
