Dark Diligence Drones are Diligence Class Drones possessed by the Ing. Like Diligence drones, they attack with energy beams but at a much higher rate preventing Samus from using the Morph Ball to roll underneath them. They also are more durable than Diligence Drones, only a charged blast from the Light Beam or Annihilator Beam can destroy them. Samus encounters them in the Ing Hive.

Some Diligence drones have been taken by the Ing for possession duties. Their small size and durability makes them excellent scouts, able to go where most others cannot. A Dark Diligence still relies on focused energy beams for defense. Their construct nature makes them invulnerable to most attack. A high-powered burst of light energy can disrupt a Dark Diligence unit.
