Diffusion Missiles expand the freezing effects of the Ice Missiles. It functions similarly to the Charge Beam, once charged, it will freeze any enemies in its blast radius. They are featured only in Metroid Fusion.

Samus obtains it shortly after defeating Nightmare. At first, Adam is surprised that she upgraded her missiles, claiming that it must have been a procedural error.[1] Later, he reveals that the Federation was attempting to withhold to prevent her from becoming too powerful.[2]

Manual

"Fire Diffusion Missiles while charged to release a powerful blast that damages enemies within a certain radius. Press and hold the R Button then fire the Missiles when charged up." [3]
