[[Samus Aran]] is sent there after she receives a distress signal from its remaining crew. The [[Parasite]]s escaped from their cells, killing much of the crew. Samus infiltrates the frigate only to confront a [[Parasite Queen]] that falls into the ship's reactor upon its defeat, activating a self-destruct sequence. Samus barely escapes, and what remains of the frigate crashes onto nearby [[Tallon IV]]. Whilst escaping, Samus comes across the rebuilt [[Meta Ridley]], who breaks free of his restraints and escapes the doomed vessel, fleeing to the planet below to oversee Space Pirate activity.
