The G.F.S. Valhalla is a Galactic Federation Ship, much like the G.F.S. Olympus. It was attacked by a Space Pirate Boarding Vessel while its crew was undergoing a training exercise. All the crew was presumed dead. Many bodies of Galactic Federation Marines have been found, petrified over time.
Samus' Mission
After destroying the Pirate Homeworld's Leviathan, Samus needed to find the access codes to allow the Galactic Federation Fleet to enter a wormhole to Phaaze. Fleet Admiral Dane discovered that the codes are found on the G.F.S. Valhalla, a downed Federation Vessel. Samus needed to find ten Energy Cells to power up the ship and find the codes.
