Leviathans are large asteroids originating from the planet Phaaze. The leviathans are made of Phazon. When they impact a planet, Phazon in introduced to the ecosystem. The purpose of the Leviathan is to initiate the spread of Phazon throughout the planet and bring about new instances of Phaaze.
