#It's bright, attention grabbing and atypical of what we usually see in featured pictures. We normally see a character, or something similar with carefully done transparencies, but this is simply a great promotional artwork picture, as it is. Featured it is. :) {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 20:26, 5 March 2011 (EST) | |||

Template:Cat Here users can nominate and vote for Metroid Wikis next featured picture. Featured pictures should:
- Depict a Metroid-related subject.
- Carry the appropriate image templates denoting copyright information.
- Be of a reasonably high resolution AND/OR
- Be of a high quality in terms of detail and rendering
- Meet all other criteria of Metroid Wiki's Image Quality Standards
Rules:
- A picture needs the approval of five users with at least one staff vote, OR two admins votes in its favor, in order to be marked as featured.
- The user who makes the nomination is included as one of the five necessary votes.
- Both users and staff may make a maximum of one approval, nomination or disapproval per calendar week.
- You may not approve of a picture which you have nominated, or for which you have already previously approved.
- Votes should be added in order beneath the respective relevant header (either {{support}} or {{oppose}}), with # at the beginning of the line.
- A maximum of six Currently Nominated images are allowed at any given time. Please do not nominate a new image if there are already six nominees.
- All approvals MUST be signed using ~~~~. If you do not sign your opinion or second, your comments WILL NOT be counted!
- Be sure to include a brief message stating why you agree that an image should be featured. "Stub" votes (e.g. "I like this image", or "<character shown> is great") may be deemed invalid and discounted.
If a picture should receive two valid user votes in opposition, it will not be featured, once verified by a staff member.
Proper Opposition Guidelines:
- You may make a single vote opposing any nominated picture (with no monthly restrictions). These should be reasoned oppositions based upon the qualifying criteria detailed.
- Your personal like or dislike of the subject being depicted is NOT grounds for opposition.
- Oppositions to images should only be used for reasons such as the following:
- a. Low-resolution
- b. Poor quality images (e.g. blurry, visible compression artifacts etc.)
- c. Poorly cropped/rendered
- d. An image depicting a similar subject is already featured
- e. The image is just one in a series of many images of similar nature
If a staff member deems that a particular opposition does not follow these guidelines, it will be negated.

Current nominations
- This is an exceptionally awesome piece of promotional artwork. It's highly detailed, very beautiful... and awesome. It would also give us a featured image that's not from Corruption. MK 19:12, 5 March 2011 (EST)
- I think the Parasite Queen is looking pretty darn good in this. You got my vote. ***Super!~Nickno 19:19, 5 March 2011 (EST)
