A Purple Hatch is a door found on Aether that can be unlocked with dark energy.[1][2] Samus unlocks Purple Hatches with one shot of the Dark Beam in order to gain access to the next room. It is the exact opposite of the White Hatch, which is opened with the Light Beam.
