Luminoth Quotes

This page is used by Metroidking for writing and experimenting. I place the outline of what I am going to write then expand it so I do not create stubs. Below is my current project: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It will be written in short sentences first, then I'm going to write the plot as I play Echoes so that the information can be as accurate as possible and quotes that only appear once can be referenced.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Plot

After the Federation loses contact with the marines of GFMC Task Force Herakles near Aether, they hire Samus Aran to investigate it and provide assistance. Her ship damaged by a storm as she enters Aether's atmosphere, preventing her from leaving until its repairs are complete. After landfall, she finds her path obstructed so she takes an alternate route through a Splinter hive. There, she finds the marines dead.

After Samus clears an obstruction that the marines placed to protect themselves from the Splinters, unknown creatures possess the marines' bodies. After destroying the possessed marines, she finds then follows Dark Samus through Dark Portal, Dark Samus destroys Light Crystal. Warrior Ing move in and take equipment. Samus escapes, makes way to G.F.S. Tyr where she learns to fate of the crew. Dark Splinters attack, she kills them.

Samus then goes to Great Temple, Dark Splinters attack. Dark Splinters die, Alpha Splinter attack. An Ing possesses Alpha Splinter. After Dark Alpha killed, Energy Transfer Module acquired. Samus meets U-Mos who explains the plight of the Luminoth and the dangers the Ing pose to universe. about Samus agrees to help, U-Mos sends her to Agon Wastes.

After she arrives in Agon, she is attacked by a group of Space Pirates. Space Pirates die, Samus goes to Temple, attacked by Alpha Sandigger which is quickly possessed by Warrior Ing the stole Bombs. Bomb Guardian dies, Samus goes to Energy Controller. Automated message left by sentinel informs her about her next task.

Production

A Link to the Past developers provided assistance due to familiarity with the concept. Elements not included in Prime due to time constraints were implemented in Echoes. Wanted more opportunities to do unique boss fights. Super Metroid inclusion was discussed but not implemented cause of time constraints.

  • Harder, more rewarding than Prime
  • Multiplayer is average

  • Slightly disappointed that it was quite similar to Prime
  • some bosses made more difficult than should have been due to lack of save room
  • Dark Aether not as compelling, said "The Dark World can be summed up in a word: purple."
  • Aether amazing, commented on the detail put into the environments
