'''Norion''' is a planet in the [[Kalandor region]], on the fringe of Federation space. The planet is considered to be of great strategic importance to the Federation. The military maintains a strong presence in this sector, and the base on Norion is often the first line of defense against enemies that operate outside of Federation space.

Originally a barren orb incapable of sustaining life, a sophisticated terraforming project designed by [[Aurora Unit]] 486 has turned Norion into a hardy forest world. The Federation outpost on Norion came under attack of a [[Leviathan]] sent by [[Dark Samus]]. The efforts of bounty hunters [[Samus Aran]], [[Ghor]], [[Gandrayda]] and [[Rundas]] assisted by the Federation military put a stop to it. This is the only recorded event where a Leviathan has been stopped from making contact with a planet.
