This walkway has 2 injured [[Space Pirate]]s on it. When Samus returns to this room she is in the lower level. This level once contained two glass containers. One has already been shattered, while the other has a living [[Parasite Queen]] within that has become volatile and broken the container. Two Space Pirates are trying to subdue it when an explosion kills them all. After climbing up to the upper level again, a door breaks open, exposing an escape route.

When Samus returns to this room, she enters on the lower level. As she does, a [[Parasite Queen]] that was hibernating in the third specimen cell becomes volatile and attempts to escape. An unstable ventilation cap breaks open, killing any nearby Pirates, exposing an escape route.
