The Luminoth chronicled their rich history using this three dimensional alphabet, though exactly how these complex symbols were depicted on a two dimensional plane prior to their inventing three dimensional displays is uncertain. It is possible that the language evolved with the progression of the species, or that their telepathic abilities rendered a writing system relatively unnecessary for the early part of their development.
