Content paraphrasing[edit source]

Well, this is somewhat familiar. I wonder… Sarcasm aside, I also find that the Queen Metroid and Spazer Beam articles of the same nature, being paraphrased off of our wiki. You clearly state in your Quality Standards that things like this shouldn't happen, yet they continue to persist. Kindly remind your users to stop plagiarizing from Wikitroid articles at once; paraphrasing off of Wikitroid without citing us is still considered plagiarism. Thanks, RAN1 20:07, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey. Just checked it out, and I certainly agree that it was pretty much paraphrased from Wikitroid. I'm not in charge of anything, though, so I'll leave any official commenting to the staff, but I can assure you that this wiki will not stand for that at all._Neo(U) (T) (C)(Home) 23:32, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The first time I read this was after Neo edited and I was like "what the hell is going on? Nothing is wrong..." I quickly realized the issue via the history tab. Rest assured we do not approve of this sort of work and like Neo did here, we plan to fix it on all the pages you mentioned. It's not like we are encouraging our members to do this, as you clearly can see in that standards page you linked it isn't something we condone. I reminded the user who did this on his talk page about our standards. Nathanial Rumphol-Janc 23:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for letting me know that you've fixed the issue. Fixing the rest of the pages would be greatly appreciated, and I'm happy to see that this isn't as turbulent a situation as it used to be. Hopefully, this won't be a problem in the near future. Again, thanks. RAN1 23:49, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You should also know that Metroid: Zero Mission is also paraphrased. I can't seem to find any more c+p-ed versions of our pages, but if I find any more, I'll let you guys know. RAN1 22:22, 20 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am aware of that page, Neo pointed it out the other day. To be fair, everything down to where it shows a Samus quote is actually directly from the manual. While your site has it, I don't think in this case it is wrong for us to have it to. It is word for word from the manual. AFTER THAT, I agree that it isn't reworded enough, but not enough for me to put it as a priority to deal with. Eventually though, yeah the page will be spruced up better..
