Fission Metroids are Phazon mutated Metroids featured only in Metroid Prime.

Fission Metroids can only be found in the Phazon Core of the Impact Crater, Metroid Prime also spawns them in the battle against it. In the PAL and Metroid Prime Trilogy version of the game, they can also be found in the Phazon Mines after the Omega Pirate is defeated.

Vulnerabilities

Before splitting Samus may damage a Fission Metroid with any beam weapon, after splitting she may damage them with the corresponding beams and the beams Charge Combo.

As with all Metroids they can be detached with a bomb. The can also be instantly killed with a Power Bomb or a blast from the Phazon Beam.
