Holobanners[1] are runic messages left behind by the Chozo in the Chozo Ruins of Tallon IV that Samus can read with the aid of her Translator Module. They are two-dimensional holograms that operate by projecting orange holographic light. Because of their two-dimensional nature, these holograms, when viewed from the side, appear nonexistent due to their lack of depth.

Concept Art for the Holobanners

Holobanners appear in several rooms, though not all may be scanned. Those that can be scanned contain information concerning the reader's bearings or clues indicating how to purge the Ruins, and ultimately the planet, from the Great Poison.
