The Portal Site is a room in the Dark Agon Wastes. It is the Dark Counterpart to the Portal Terminal, and as such is extremely similar. The room connects the Portal Access to the Crossroads, and contains a Portal to the Portal Terminal. The room is the first room in Dark Aether that Samus is able to freely explore. One end of the room has the Portal on a high ledge that can only be accessed using the Space Jump Boots. The other end of the room has two hallways leading to the connecting rooms. The path to the Portal Access can only be accessed using the Space Jump Boots. The hallway to the Crossroads is initially blocked by a large gate. This gate can be lowered using a nearby Bomb Slot, which will also lower another gate that leads to the Transport Center in the Portal Site. There are no inhabitants when Samus first travels through the room, but when she returns with the Space Jump Boots, three Dark Pirate Troopers attack her.
