K-2L is Samus Aran's home planet. K-2L was an Earth settlement. Samus is the only survivor of the attack on K-2L by Ridley and the Space Pirates. In the manga, Samus's father was the leader in an excavation for rare minerals to sell, that were native to K-2L.
