The Luminoth are a race of beings who make their home on the planet Aether. They are technologically advanced and harness the "Energy" of Aether to power their machinery.

Origins
The Luminoth made their home on Aether after wandering the stars searching for a suitable planet on which to live. It is unknown as to how or where they came into being. Though their lore, found throughout their ruins on Aether, suggest that they originated from the void of space itself.
The Luminoth are a peaceful, highly advanced, sentient species that previously inhabited large areas of the planet Aether. In her logbook, Samus estimates that their technology is on par with that of the Chozo. Their civization was brought to an end by a Leviathan. A handful of the Luminoth survived in protective stasis, in wait of the crisis to clear. The species is capable of flight and psionics.[1]
According to lore, they have been in peaceful contact with a vast number of "enlightened minds" such as the N'Kren, the Ylla, the Chozo [2] and the Bryyans.[3]
