Lumites are moth like creatures that appear in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Lumites are almost completely dependent on light, and are able to use photosynthesis. When in the darkness, they rely on a weak shot of biomatter for protection. When a Lumite travels into light, it can become invisible and shoot more powerful projectiles. The only way to see them is to activate the Dark Visor. The Lumites appear as large moths with a single eye. They have gray bodies and six tan legs. Lumites have transparent wings with circular designs. When on the ground, Lumites will skitter back and forth as if they are nervous.
