Skrees are a species of bat-like creatures that hang from ceilings. When something approaches, they will drop down and borrow into the ground, exploding soon afterward.

While Skrees are only found on Zebes and on the Bottle Ship, the Shriekbat species found on multiple planets is highly similar.
